FTM long positive induction story! (Raw birth photos)
!!!!TMI raw birthing photos at the very end if you want to skip them!!!
The details are a little foggy but I’ll try my best! I had a very easy pregnancy with relatively no complications, besides the normal discomfort and pelvic pain and a little acid reflux. At my 39 week appointment I was finally dilated to a 2 and 40% effaced but at my 40 week appointment on September 19th I hadn’t progressed at all. My midwife asked me how long I wanted to wait for him before an induction and because my fiancé only had a week of leave starting on the September 23rd I asked to be induced on the 24th at the latest. I was scheduled for the 23rd but they ended up calling that day and rescheduling for the morning of the 24th. The night of the 23rd came around and I wanted to try sex to jumpstart natural labor if I could, well I started having consistent contractions and was in a ton of pain so I headed to labor and delivery anyway. The nurse that helped me was honestly so rude and made me cry and sent me home saying I wasn’t dilated at all and to come back in the morning. So the 24th at 7am we headed to the hospital and got started on pitocin. I was dilated to a 3 when I went in so they skipped the Foley balloon that they were planning on using. The nurses that I had during my stay were angels and I got so blessed with them. My contractions were consistent and close but I didn’t start to feel them at all until about 4pm when I asked for the anesthesiologist. She showed up at 5:00 and by then my contractions were so painful I was crying. After setting the epidural which took a little while because of my scoliosis, I felt so much better and was able to rest in 10-20 minute increments. By 7:00 I was dilated to a 91/2 and my water had broken during one of my cervix checks. the nurse did a few practice pushes with me and they let me labor down for a little while to get his head lower. At some point I started feeling my contractions again and they gave me a baby bolus to help. At around 8:15 they had me start pushing during contractions but the monitor stopped reading them and because I couldn’t feel them very much it was hard to time when to push so it took about an hour. At 9:14pm my precious boy was born at 9 pounds 3 ounces and 22 inches long. We have been ebf for the whole months and I’m so blessed that it has been so easy! No cracked nipples or pain or anything! He only wakes up once or twice during the night and is already over 12 pounds!
Here’s some pictures before during and after my little one (I’m going to add some tmi pictures at the very end for those who don’t want to see!)

Thank you all for getting this far! I was pretty terrified of induction bc of all the horror stories I heard but labor was so great and positive for me I feel very lucky and blessed to have had such an easy pregnancy and labor and such a perfect little human 💙💙
