Is it wrong of me to ask my in laws and my parents to get a flu shot since baby will be born in flu season ?🤷🏻‍♀️

Generally curious, how many of you asked and what reaction did you get?

I said no , it's not wrong to ask but 
It is wrong to EXPECT. 
Just tell them you don't mind if they don't get the shot but if they don't they can't hold the baby for the first several months, that should make em get the shot.

I have already told all of our family members who I expect will be around frequently that I would appreciate they get their tdap and flu. I also said they didn't have to but would not be able to hold my child for the first couple months. Babies deserve every chance of being healthy- I respect others' right to choose for themselves but in turn they need to respect my choice for my child.

I voted yes for the simple fact that this is a personal preference. Someone could lie and say that they received the vaccine and did not! I’m not making anyone get vaccinated! I’m just requesting that if you are sick, getting over a cold or think you are sick to hold off on coming. Do not kiss her in the face and make sure you are washing hands and sanitizing your hands. Our babies are due in the winter which means make sure baby has on socks, you’re waiting before taking baby out and you’re dressing baby as you would yourself!

We made a lot of my family get the tdap when we had our first. everyone agreed. The flu is a serious illness and for babies is so scary.

I didn’t ask my family, however all family who will be around baby on a regular basis are getting a tdap booster. I spoke to them about my concerns and they made the decision themselves.

You can totally ask. But you can’t make them or ever really know for sure! But I think asking is totally reasonable. It is important.
