Makeout nightmare

So I recently have been talking to this amazing and sweet guy for a month now and we met for the first time last night. Everything was going good we had a lowkey night at his place while watching a movie and stuff when at the end of night before I left we kissed and started making out. Let me say that before we kissed I could feel the chemistry, it was there. We were really hitting it off. The second he kissed me it was the biggest turn off ever. I don't know what a bad kisser really is like but kissing him was like kissing sandpaper. Literally. It was so dry and rough feeling my whole mouth and face felt like I had exfoliated the skin off. I don't know what to do because he wants to hang out again and I do like him but the kissing. Is. Terrible.
