He said “I’m happy with you”

So my fwb who is kind of more than that but not s boyfriend just told me “I’m happy with you”... i asked him what he meant and he wouldn’t explain it to me and I’m lost. I won’t lie i love him and he loves me and our relationship is awesome he’s a friend and a lover i guess. I can see myself loving him more and maybe even as his girlfriend but we live completely different and separate lives far away from each other... idk if this is him hinting that he wants to be with me but if so he needs to spit it out, what do you guys think ?
