MIl so annoying

I don’t know what to do my husband is an only boy he has only sisters which I guess is why he’s such a mammas boy. Btw he’ll be 37 in November but my mil is the most annoying person I know she has good intentions but everything about her bothers me. For example she speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese she’s from Brazil and also speaks broken English. When we started dating they’d always speak Portuguese and it would bother me because I’d sit there not understanding anything. So I spoke to my husband which he spoke to her about trying to speak Spanish around me since I speak Spanish too. 5 yrs later she still speaks Portuguese to him and his sisters in front of me. The other day she said something so they all laughed and I whispered to him what did she say and he told me and then told her “ mom speak in Spanish so she could understand” so then she says “ oh it’s fine she understands. Clearly no I don’t because I don’t speak Portuguese sometimes I can make out words cuz it’s similar to Spanish but not a conversation. I don’t want to say anything to her because I just want to avoid problems. But it’s so frustrating and rude. So when we get together I just sit there on my phone because what else am I going to do when I don’t know what’s going on? Am I right to be annoyed?
