Lip tie?

Question

My son is 5 1/2 weeks old, he’s struggling with a shallow latch but it’s manageable most times. Is this a lip tie??

Edit: these are our symptoms, the red dots are what ones we have.

My daughter had the same problems with no lip tie and still haven't  found a reason for the issues she still has some troubles with feedings at 9 1/2 months and we even switched to bottle feeding

No, a lip tie would go to the bottom of the gums. That’s normal. Feel above your front teeth and you’ll see the same thing.

That’s how my sons lip looks, too! He’s 7 months and it’s never affected him! His top lip goes in when he nurses sometimes but I just kinda pull it out! I read if it doesn’t affect weight gain or anything then it should be fine! 🤷🏼‍♀️

It doesnt look as severe as my daughters which was deemed not severe enough to correct🤷‍♀️

It’s best to ask the pediatrician because it doesn’t look like it to me. I’ve nursed 3 of my boys and with my first he wasn’t properly latched and it cause a lot of pain. We had to try different positions and I would have to open his mouth wider to latch him properly. We finally got through it
