Pogesteron shot opinions

So I need to here peoples opinions on the shots that help stop pre term labor. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and 5 days due to me being induced because she kept putting pinholes in my water. My cervix was completely closed the entire time. I was in inactive labor for over 24 hours after getting induced started 12/28 at night they put a balloon in on the morning of 12/29 cause I was only one centimeter they removed the balloon once I was at 6 cm and stayed like that for a full 24 hrs in this time I did not feel one contraction she wouldn’t lower or anything until 2pm the next day 12/30 because they broke my water and gave me the epidural. My daughter is now almost 2 and I’m 9 weeks pregnant with #2 and my dr had asked me about going on these shots. My thing is though I absolutely hate needles and I heard the shots can be pricey and also the nurse had come into my room after I delivered my daughter and said they neger should’ve induced me that I would’ve made it to full term on my own if they hadn’t forced it. I did have enough fluid but I really don’t wanna go on these shots if there not necessary. I’m only 21 so I just wondered if maybe I should hold off on the shots unless my hormones levels were deficient or I started leaking fluid. Also I should add the nurses who induced first told me I’d be going home until I was 37 weeks as I had not started labor on my own I was only 1 cm dilated with no contractions and didn’t even go into active labor until the dr broke my water even at level 20 pitiful for over 24 hours
