I need a motivation for my dream 🙁

I want to become a story or a novel writer but i don't have a motivation for that and time , althought i wrote a short story for my friend and she liked it and showed it to other friends and classmates and they liked it too , and by time passed by i lost my motivation to continue writing stories and i am also able to write novels too .

My dad have a friend who is a publisher and told me he can help if i wrote a story so i'm not sure because i'm afried and worried that my story might be stolen like most of other writers .

So can you ladies help me to decide to write and puplish by my father's friend or only write and find other publishers by my self , i relly need your opinion and to help me here 😔
