Accutane?

sooooo I went to the doctor today and they suggested I use Accutane and they explained some side effects and I'm kinda nervous. Any advice, or your story good or bad please tell me!

Don’t be nervous. The results will outweigh the side effects 100%. TRUST ME. 
I took Accutane for 2 years at a really high dose around 10 years ago. I had ALL the side effects. I had nose bleeds, dry skin, dry lips, back pains, dizziness, dry eyes... all of it. The worst being temporary memory loss which affected a week of school (seriously, I had all of the side effects lol). 
All of this said not to scare you, but to encourage you. For the last 10 years, I’ve been acne free. I went from “the worst skin” my dermatologist had ever seen (hence the high dosage and 2 years) to completely free of acne AND scars. It will change your life. 
Also, you likely won’t have all these side effects that I named. Most people get dry lips (use Aquafor!) and occasional nose bleeds with a regular dosage. It is worth it. Promise! Don’t be scared. You’re going to love it!

Omg I had accutane and it completely cured my acne. I was so unbelievably happy. Worse side effects for me was I was super sensitive in the sun and it was hard for me to swallow the pill (: but it is definitely worth it.

The only side effect I had with accutane was dry mouth and sensitivity to the sun. But it was 100% worth it my severe cystic acne was gone by 6 months. ❤️

I used it when I was 16 and had great results. It makes your skin bonkers dry but for me that was it. My sister used it at the same time and it triggered a really horrible depression. It’s just hard to say if you’ll have that reaction. I have a close friend who has been on it now for six months and she’s been fine. 
If you use it, definitely alert people you’re close to that depression can be a side effect, and ask them to be on the look out for signs of it and to check in with you regularly.
