So I want to start this off by saying since 12 weeks I have tried to get a job and I'm now 28 weeks and heard nothing and am not eligible for benefits.

So my Fiance works and he always tells me that his money is my money and earlier this year when I was working and he wasn't it was the same thing.

But we have bills to pay and have to pay off the car and my Fiance is SUPER bad at budgeting. 😫

The past few weeks he has gone out on nights out with friends and I would say can you try save so and so amount of money and he will be like "yeh no problems I wouldn't spend any more than that anyways" and then he comes home and from a night out at the pub would have spent $150 ( which for us make a difference) and i just don't understand who needs to drink $150 worth of alcohol on a casual night out with mates.

He does have a bit of a problem with drinking but over the months he has done amazingly to cut down from drinking every day to a couple days a weeks and going out once a week or one a fortnight with the boys for a big night out.

The other problem he has is he smokes and is planning to stop by the time Bub comes ( which with help I know he can do) but where I'm from a pouch of cigarettes plus filters and papers is around $50 or so so that's about $100 a week we are out of pocket from ciggarettes... 😒 ( Plus he told me last night that he was not buying anymore when he's out of his current pouch... He went and bought more lol)

He doesn't seem to see that combined with smoking and drinking it costs us anywhere from $150 - $250 a week !!!

Just to put that in perspective for you he gets an average weekly pay of $415 - $650 a week ( shift work.) And then we have to pay off the car, fuel, groceries, bills, appointments.

I know it's his money and If he wants to treat himself then I have no problem, I try to let him control his money but just remind him about stuff we need to save for and so on without trying to be too controlling.

He doesn't get annoyed with me at all having input on budgeting and so on but he forgets and next minute he's spent half his pay.

Money is really tight right now.

I'm thinking about ( and tell me if this is too psycho) just writing up a budget and all the bills and stuff we need to pay and printing it off and just putting it on the fridge so he can see and be reminded and that might help.

I'm also thinking of making dream catchers and crafty things and making an Instagram store to make us some extra cash.

Iam so greatful he is working to support us and i know he beats himself up because he can't do the job he wants to ATM because his health issues.

But if we had that extra money if would make all the difference!

Does anyone have any input? Or have any advice or tips ?
