Have you ever broken up with someone..?

Have you ever broken up with someone, not because of a fight, but because they weren’t going in the same direction as you in life? They weren’t proving themselves to be partners that could provide in the future?
If so, how did it go down? Any regrets?

Yes. I broke up with... actually a lot of people. 
No regrets. 
I broke up with the guy I lost my virginity to & dated the longest ever because we had different paths in life. 
But he would have been able to provide, just not what I genuinely needed because we just wanted different things from life. 
100% did the right thing, no regrets whatsoever. Very glad I went on to date other people.
I'm now in a good relationship with someone way more compatible who wants more of the same things in life. It's like 9 years and 7 relationships later, lol, but I'm glad for my journey and what I shared with all the people I've been with. 
I'm glad for what it all taught me, because now I can take everything I learned and use it to make this relationship so much better!
I'm sure of what I want, I can assert myself on how I need to be treated, I can be there for my partner since I have more life experience, and I'm extremely grateful for this relationship- because my other relationships weren't as good (some very bad) and I know how good I've got it.
Breaking up is sometimes a great decision. 
And either way, I've learned that life tends to bring new opportunities, so there will be another.
