Vegetarian/vegan - could there be a connection to infertility ?

I am a vegetarian and I have been trying for 1 1/2 years. There has not been really anything the doctors can find wrong. I do have rather low* cholesterol. Also my progestrone is a little low. I know that healthy fats are very important and not having them can effect hormones. Anyway I am curious if anyone else is a non- meat eater with mysterious infertiltiy.

I'm a vegetarian, have been since age 15. I have 2 healthy, happy babies and had no problems getting pregnant. I do make sure I take a vitamin and make sure I'm getting the nutrients necessary.

I've been doing research on b12 because I am deficient (just found out). Says it can cause infertility, especially in vegans because you're not getting b12 w no cheese, meat or eggs. Maybe get tested for it?

I'd go to my doctor and ask for a panel of blood tests. There's a good chance you might be deficient in a few vitamins or minerals (even if you were a meat eater!) And they'll be able to tell you what and how much to take. =)

That used to be me. Started eating meat, two months later I was pregnant with my first after trying for nearly two years.
