Extreme Cervix Pain

Has anyone else experienced really severe cervical pain? It feels like I’m being stabbed! It’s not constant thank goodness but when it happens it can last quite a while and brings tears to my eyes and has me crying out in pain. I’ve been laying and sitting in different positions each time it happens and regardless it always hurts so badly! It started last night and has continued throughout today. What could this be? Is it normal?
