Best way to travel with 1 month old???!

So my brother is getting married a month after I give birth. The wedding is in Texas and I live in California. Anyone ever traveled this far with a 1 month old. The plane ride is the quickest way but I’m not sure how safe it is to fly for a 1 month old. I was thinking maybe train or driving but I’m not sure. My in laws were gonna come to Texas to watch the baby for the time that I will be at the wedding. Any advice based off of experience would be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn’t bring my baby on an airplane. I’d be worried she/he would get sick from all the germs.

I can't imagine traveling with a 1 month old! They are still so tiny. I guess the main thing is safety to be honest. My soon to be 1 month old is barely 7 pounds. I would be worried about germs and soothing him.

Hi, long haul flight attendant here. Flying is perfectly safe with baby at that age (usually anytime after 7 days postpartum with no complications) as long as your dr has cleared you both for travel. Baby-wearing and having an additional shawl or cover to drape over is a great way to stop nosy germy people peering at and touching your babe! 
I would rather not drive as you’ll have to stop extremely frequently to reposition bub and changing them in the car or at gas stations .. 🤢 positional asphyxia is also a real and serious risk, which can occur when baby is left to sleep in a car seat for long periods. 
If you’re not comfortable flying, and the train is a viable option it could be a little more comfortable and spacious option for you. Book first class though! 😊

Idk about 1 month but my niece had just turned 2months and my sister flew form Seattle, Washington home to Indiana and had no problems. She breastfeed at take off and landing and said baby slept the whole flight. Good luck momma ✌🏻

Safety wise I think it'll be okay. Make sure you get a seat for your baby as well so you can have a carseat. They should make that a requirement but I know they'll just let you hold your child through the whole flight. It'll be easier flying than driving for sure. Especially with all the attention a newborn needs 🤷‍♀️
