How many cloth diapers should I have in my stash?

Also what are your favorite brands? Really want to cloth diaper but a bit nervous as its my first time.😬 Any advice?

Around 30 is a decent stash. That will have you washing about twice a week for the first 3 or so months and then you’ll progressively go through less as the months go on.
My favorite all-in-one brands are rumparooz, blueberry and bum genius. I had a few funky fluff and thirstys in there too because I liked the designs but definitely wouldn’t have made them the bulk of my stash.
Additional tip, maybe only get 75% or 2/3 of your stash before baby comes, if you can. Then after a week or so of hand-on experience order the rest in the brand you found yourself reaching for most often. Because preferences and situations vary. 
Also get a few extra inserts for a potential heavy wetter or just for nighttime diapers. 
Pre-wash before baby comes. The label or packaging should have instructions for the initial wash. Can vary by brand. After that initial wash, you can wash them all the same way.
Sorry so long, I’m definitely an enthusiast. You’re making a great decision. You’ll get into a groove using them fairly quickly.

I love Buttons covers with Osocozy flats. Those were our go to. Buttons grow with the kid and are super great preventing leaks. The flats are super versatile. I’d recommend adding in some profiles for a quicker option and to pad extra when baby starts wetting more. And overall, I think if I had to do it all over again, I’d go 100% wool covers just because they are so easy to maintain. Very minimal washing and very comfy and natural for baby. But that’s an option a lot of moms are intimidated by. Good luck!!!

My favorite brand is softbums. I tried a bunch of others and gave all those other ones away. These work best in my opinion and are easy enough for my husband as well as grandparents and aunts to use.

i say at least 24 enough for 2 days worth. so that way your not washing everyday. but if you could get more thats even better. with my first i had enough so i only had to wash once a week.  new borns go threw more diapers so keep that in mind. i say about 12 a day. but it really depends on how much they poop.
