Implant or depo shot?

Question

These seem like the best options for me. The implant bc it lasts for 3 years and don't have to worry about it. The depo shot bc I still don't have to worry on a day to day basis but have to drive to doctor for the shot. I also would like to hear some personal experiences with both namely, side effects, negative or positive! Thanks!

I had a great experience on the shot. I didn't gain a crap load of weight but I was on it for 5 years and gained about 25 lbs over the course of the fives years. It was great for me but it did decrease my sex drive tremendously. I just never wanted sex....well not never but no where near as much as before I'd gotten the shot. It was great because I didn't get a period and the hubby and I could have sex with no worries

I was on the depo for almost 6 years & loved it. I stopped having my period all together which also meant no cramps! I never once had an pregnancy scare. There is a 2 week time frame where you can get the shot and will still be effective, so it was never an inconvenience to get to the doctor. I didn't gain weight, have migraines, or lose my sex drive like others have said, but everyone is different!

I was on the depo shot and after getting off it, it took me 2 years toget a period again and that's only the help from other medication. But that's just me. If I was you,'I'd pick implant

Well I've never had the implant... But I don't recommend the depo. It is different for everyone but I had really bad migraines around my time of the month that would last up to 3 or more days and after being on it for about a year I ended up becoming really moody and almost like I was losing my mind lol. Honestly I had a lot of people asking if I was okay, I was flat out mean to say the least. I switched to the nuva ring and I felt so much better not so much like a basket case ha. Hope that helps maybe a little bit but like it is completely different for everyone not to mention I gained like 50lbs in about a year and kept gaining it until I stopped getting the shot. Luckily I have not gained anymore since then but having a very hard time losing it.

I'm getting the implant  on Monday. I chose it because it lasts three years instead of having to pay for a shot every three months. Less things for me to remember. When I looked up positives and negatives it was more or less the same as any birth control pill.
