Too soon?

Question

Is it too soon to get my 15 month old a toddler bed? The reason I ask is because I’m pregnant again so I was thinking I could have this baby sleep in the crib and just get my son a toddler bed. He’s 14 months now, I planned to get him one for Christmas when he’ll be 15 months.

No each kid is different if you think your little one is ready then go for it! My girls where in their own beds at a year An my bed way before then because they just didn't sleep in a crib they hated it so each kid is different ! It doesn't hurt to try I also skipped toddler beds entirely . Again only a judgement call you can make based on your child!

Both my boys been in there toddler beds from 15months as they both could climb over there crib at that age.. tuck a few weeks of them staying in there bed at nighttime tho, as it was game getting up and walking into our room but I solved that by putting a stair gate on bedroom door.. 👍🏻 as long as your little one knows how to climb out of bed by himself and not fall then shouldn’t be a problem.. 😊 just baby proof everywhere in there bedroom tho..

I think you’re probably the best person to make that call because I think every child is different and you know your LO best. I saw a post on here that their 14 month old was already in a toddler bed. I also am friends with someone from high school who put her daughter in a toddler bed at 14 months. My son on the other hand is 17 months and I couldn’t imagine him sleeping in a toddler bed just yet. So I think if you feel that your LO is ready then go ahead. That’s my goal to is too have my son in a toddler bed so I can use the crib for my next but I’m not pregnant yet. I think if I was in your shoes though I’d probably attempt the toddler bed for him and use the crib for your next as well.

Depends on your kiddo. We just converted our 20mo’s crib (he’s a climber, plus I’m due on Christmas and having trouble getting him out), only to discover the rail I thought was to keep him from rolling out was just for the base. The first couple nights took a little while for him to go to sleep, but we got him one of those mesh rail things so he can still feel secure, but has a wide enough opening so he can get out, and that seemed to do it. Only took a few days, now he goes to sleep like a champ again. Naps take a little longer for him to get to sleep, too busy wanting to play, but I’m thinking this means the transition from nap to quiet time will be a breeze.

I’ll be getting my 19 month old a “big girl room” for Christmas. She doesn’t try to climb out of her crib or anything like that all kids are different and you can go for it when you think they’re ready.

My son is 27 months old and still sleeps in his crib. Until he tries to clim out of it we will not change it.

Well I didn’t get them a bed until they started climbing out of their cribs...and when they understand that you can’t get up and play. Bc the crib keeps them confined. I had three in cribs...🤯😳🤪 now only two got them matching since they are a year apart!! Sharing rooms when the baby is old enough.
