I read the article about SIDS that was handed out at the hospital and I was just curious as to how many mothers still allow their child to be in their bed sometimes that’s the only way my newborn will stay asleep ?

My daughter is 10 weeks and she can only sleep with me in bed 🤷🏼‍♀️ we tried 12 different  cribs/bassinets/ w.e you name it.  I know it’s dangerous and blah blah blah but my daughter need to sleep, she even lost a pound in a week due to not eating crying all the time. I was born in Russian and my aunt is a pediatrician there , she said she never heard of SIDS and newborns always sleep with parents. Only in America “everything is dangerous”. The point is : It’s your child do what you think is right and best for your child.

I was so against it when I was pregnant and after I gave birth. I stayed up for hours a night getting her into her into her bassinet. Then she was hospitalized for 11 days and they wouldn't feed her. She was terrified and hungry. The ONLY way she would sleep was on me and I slept that whole time in a chair in the hospital sitting up holding her. After that it was all over. She would NOT sleep anywhere but with me. The minute I put her anywhere else she would wake up and flip out. Thankfully I'm a very light sleeper and I don't move in my sleep. We had a heart and oxygen monitor for her which I think is a MUST and only followed the cosleeping safe sleep practices (no medications, no alcohol, breastfeeding, not overweight, light blankets, no pillows, etc you can look them up). Also make sure to put your mattress on the ground. My husband also didn't sleep with us because he moves around a lot. However, If we are lucky enough to have another child honestly I would try not to do it again. My daughter is almost two and we only get her to sleep alone for like two hours a night. You gotta do what you gotta do though and she was a special case for us. Hoping the next one will be smoother 😂 if we had to though I would do it again

My daughter would wake up within seconds of being put into her bed the first 2 months. I never turned in my sleep and made sure no blankets were around her. I hated having to do it because I was constantly worried, but she just would not sleep otherwise. I'm glad she grew out of that

Me and my husband discussed this. My husband would be in the livingroom and I’d stay in my bedroom if need be. I’m prepared to be up all night and get them use to the bassinet. My husband is a wild sleeper and we’re both kind of heavy. I already have insomnia from my two older kids and I still check up on them at night.

I have co slept with all my babies.. But I am a really light sleeper.. I literally still get up to check on my older kids 11 & 8 every night a couple times a night 😂 my daughter is 2 now amd she sleeps in her crib most nights but she will still crawl into bed with us sometimes, we move her back as soon as she falls a sleep though only cause my huge belly took over the bed now 💁

I slept with my first till she was 6 month then transferred to her crib sleeping with my 2month old she has a co sleep on the bed but she falls asleep in my arms

I took a newborn sleep class to get my baby to sleep independently. It's called "Will I ever sleep again?". It is offered online and in person (if you live near Phoenix AZ).
