Newborn nighttime feedings
FTM here! How many times should baby wake up at night to eat? She is 19 days old and has surpassed her birth weight by 4oz, so far, i would have to wake her up to eat, not the other way around (apart from just a few times). I normally set alarms for throughout the night about 3 hours apart but for some reason, they didn’t go off last night and baby didn’t make a peep! I woke up at 5am realizing that she hasn’t cried for feedings and that i didn’t wake up earlier to feed her! I took her out of her bassinet, changed her diaper, and she latched for about 10 min and fell right back to sleep. Should I be waking her up again to eat or just let her sleep? We went to bed around 12:30am so that was the last time she ate and she latched for about 10 min before falling asleep. Also, she eats like a champ throughout the day, I’m talking 10-30 minute feedings every half hour with the occasional 45-1 hour feeding every few hours and like I said, she is past her birth weight but had some difficulties gaining her weight back in the beginning. She’s gaining about 3/4 of an oz per day at this rate, but doc said she’s looking much much better!
Thanks!❤️
Side q: will my supply go down if i let her sleep?
