What’s the best affordable knife set and pots and pan set?

I’m making my Christmas list for my fiancé and I’m in need of new pots and pans & also a new knife set!!! We only have the cheap stuff and it’s not working out too well especially the knife set! So is there a brand that you use that you like that is affordable??

Rachel rays pots and pans set is what we have and it was really affordable. It is pretty heavy duty and nonstick. I really love the whole set. 
My husband is a chef so he bought me a knife set last year since he has his own Mercer set but I can’t remember the name! It was just a chef’s knife and a small paring knife but that’s all I really need and use.

Get the Kirkland Signature (Costco brand) stainless steel pot & pan set!!! I LOVE mine! Lifetime warranty, heavy duty, and I spent only 175! I literally have no other pans except for one small nonstick for eggs. One of the best purchases I ever made😍😍

I have the tfal copper set. Non stick doesnt last. I've had this set for 4 years. They have other sets too so look them up. Also I suggest to you one or 2 knifes. I bought one very good german chef knife for 30 or 40$ at a culinary store and it's all I use for everything. You only need one and you need one to suit your taste and your hands. I have small hands so I need a smaller knife to work with

I love Cutco knives. My husband had a knife set from when he was a teenager because he used to sell Cutco knives and we’re still using that same set today as a married couple! I’m super picky about knives, but I’m in love with my Cutco set. They will even sharpen them for free if you send them in. 
As others have already recommended, for pots I recommend All-clad. They’re pricey up front, but they last forever. For pans we buy a new set of Tramontina pans from Costco every year or 2 years because non-stick doesn’t last forever and once they start scratching I throw them away because it’s toxic. It’s $30 for a set of 3 pans so it’s worth it. It’s also a good idea to invest in silicone utensils because they make the nonstick coating last longer. If you don’t want nonstick pans, stick with All-clad.

We use all clad pots and pans. They’re pricey but they’ll last a lifetime... the stainless steel set was $700 but I got the non stick set for $250 at tjmaxx, which is half price. 
Our knife set was about $1000 so I have no advice on affordable there. 
We’re both big into cooking and having quality kitchen tools though. We’d rather pay more in the start than end up paying just as much if not more in the long run replacing cheap stuff.

One of my favorite cheap pans came from ikea. Just a basic stainless pot with lid. It’s a good sauce pan.
