Estrogen level and how it affects ivf ?

I had my egg collection today and got 8 eggs . I was fairly disappointed as I know from the size of them 2 days ago, I think only 5 May be mature and fertilise and then Blastocyst... 😩 I will then have Pgd and pgs.. hoping for the best. anyways they keep saying it’s quality over quantity ... and your estrogen level is good. I was 4000. Does anyone know what effect your estrogen level has on it all ? Thanks !

To high estrogen at retrieval may cause ohss.

I’ve done three cycles with pretty high levels. 1st 8 retrieved, 4 mature, 4 fertilized, 2 sent for PGS (e2 was around 2100 @ trigger), 1 not my. 2nd 17 retrieved, 15 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 sent for PGS, 0 normal (e2 was in 4000). 3rd 32 retrieved today, e2 5800. So honestly don’t think it will always correlate between the two. Usually high estrogen means more mature eggs. You got this!

I just went through IVF. My estrogen at the time of retrieval was 1200-1300. My RE said it’s about 200 per mature egg, which ended up being accurate for me. 8 eggs retrieved, but only 6 mature.

I’m assuming that measurement was 4,000pmol/l? Mine was 5,900pmol/l on the morning of trigger day...I triggered at 12am the next morning so I assume my levels would have been around 7,000 at trigger time. That would be about 1,900pg/ml and I got 12 eggs.  It sure how mature they will be. But it was my most surprisingly retrieval. When my levels were at 9,000 I got 6 eggs, level at 15,000 I got 8 eggs and a level at 20,000 I got 12....on previous cycles. So I was really shocked that at 5,900 I got 12. I find out today how many were mature and fertilized
