Messenger boy brother

Long story short me and my boyfriend’s sister don’t get along. We’ve stopped saying hi to one another and just basically stopped acknowledging each others presence. Anyways, their other brother, who I actually talk to, constantly talks to me about the sister and how she just takes time to get used to and it’s customary in their culture to say hi even if you’re not on good terms with someone as a sign of respect. Well I think that philosophy goes for a lot of cultures and respect is earned. She doesn’t respect me why should I be expected to respect her? She doesn’t respect my boyfriend either. She uses the brother as the messenger boy instead of confronting me herself so I lose more respect for her anyways. I need some new perspective and advice please 🙏🏻

For everyone saying to just ‘be the bigger person’ that’s just some straight up bullshit. How many times can a person be expected to be the bigger person? How many time must one get hurt and stepped on and still be expected to be the bigger person? Wtf kind of society is that
