Donating breast milk

My freezer is ridiculously packed with surplus milk I will never use as I have enough fresh milk. I only have labeled the date the milk was pumped and some bags might have been overfilled early on as I didn’t pay much attention to the max line (foolish I know). Is there a place I can donate this milk? What do I do with it? I am on a thyroid medication would I be able to donate my extra milk from this point on if I signed up for donor program? Also if I do a donor program do they come collect the milk or do I have to drop it off?

There is a place called Human Milk for Human Babies. It’s like a community of people looking to donate and people looking for donated milk. You could also reach out to your local hospitals to see if they accept donated breastmilk for their NICU. They may even know of a few places if they don’t accept it directly.

I donated to a local mom on human milk for human babies Facebook page. Every state has its own Facebook page and you can connect with another mom. They are usually willing to replenish your bags. I’ve also signed up for tiny treasures milk bank. They pay you $1 an ounce. But it’s a long process to get started and if your freezer is filling up then you may want to go with human milk for human babies. They also require a donation of like 360 ounces a month.

Look online for donation sites in your area. That's how I found the one I'll be donating mine to.
