Cigarettes kill more people than war every year. The only reason they are still legal is because it’s a multi-billion dollar industry and many people are earning a lot from tobacco sales.

Yes because it's not only killing them it's killing the people around them 2nd hand smoke is the worst. I believe there's a reason why its worst for the people who breathe on 2nd hand smoke, so that people will care. We should care for others even if they don't care for themselves because those people live in this world and we need to care for our world and those in it because we are all changing it. We are changing and affecting the environment in positive and negative ways. What about the children and the future. Smoking isn't right and if our world keeps allowing it it tells our children it's okay even though we tech them say no to drugs or to tobacco. We can't just say things we need to stand up boldly for what we firmly believe.

Bad for your health yes but so is herion and cocaine and they are illegal but people still use them. Same concept as gun control laws. Its not going to stop people from smoking. Sodas and aspartame are bad equally for your health but are they banned no. Would people still drink sodas if they were yes.

You can not tell someone what they can or cannot do with their own body. Alcohol impairs judgement and can lead to death as well. Sugar causes cancer, fast food can lead to heart disease and diabetes. So if your banning things based on them being bad there is a long list of things ahead of it.

If people do not like the idea to ban cigarettes, give them a designated place to smoke and make sure to properly throw it in the trash bin after using it. If they do not follow this, give them a huge fine. I know a country who does this and they are progressing really well.

No. Anything illegal will make its way back some way or another, regardless of the consequences. Its a hell of a lot less of a hassle to keep them legal, than to crowd the jail with people who were charged for having a carton. That, and its always a persons decision to begin smoking. I'm a smoker myself, and I know I picked it up on my own. People know the consequences of smoking, yet choose to do it anyways.
