No Hcg levels?

I'm currently 8w3d's. I went to the doctor on Friday due to bleeding and found out I have a small, 1cm subchorionic bleed. Baby was good with a heartbeat of 168. I asked the doctor what my hCG and progesterone levels were and he said they haven't checked any yet. I asked why and he said that as long as they see a baby and a heartbeat they don't need to yet. Is this normal?

Once they see a heartbeat they go by that and not the Hcg levels

Usually people only need their hcg levels tracked if they've had miscarriages, or the doctor suspects a miscarriage. So yes, normal to not do the extra labs and blood draws if you don't need them.

I had my first prenatal appointment last week and she told me they were doing all this bloodwork, so I asked if they check hormone levels and she said no but they could add if I wanted to. So I did and they came back normal, I'm crazy and wish I could go in every week to have them checked 🙈

I went to the ER at 6.5 weeks and they told me I also have a small sch. I had a previous miscarriage last year and my doctor also has not been tracking my HCG levels and the only way I found out was from the ER which showed high levels and I got to see the baby's heart beat. Haven't had any spotting since than and I'm 8 weeks today. I go back to the doctors wednesday to check on the baby. Try not to stress it's more common than you think.

Same here. I went to ER they saw the sch and drew hcg but when I went to see the ob they didn't seem concerned and didn't check my levels again? I'm trying not to stress about it. Thankfully I'm not bleeding but I am in pain.

I also have a small SCH...still spotting a bit since last Friday when I found out...some minor cramping, nothing red - only brown...wheb I realized I had a lot of brown discharge called my doc and they sent me for an ultrasound when I learned of the SCH...was told baby looked good with good heartbeat but still so overwhelmingly worried and anxious! Have to wait till Thursday for next ultrasound - hoping to hear and see the heartbeat! Trying to not make Myself crazy!

My doc only checked mine on my initial blood work at like 4 weeks... He said that there's no need to recheck unless something isn't right with the baby or suspected miscarriage....

Ok I feel much better! I have two boys, 8 & 12 and I know things have changed!
