Am I overreacting over my baby’s height??

Okay so my little one is 8 months old and he measures 25 inches or he did at his last appointment which was about a month ago. I thought my baby was long but I downloaded this app called Kinedu and it said my baby is smaller than other baby’s his age. I’m only 5 ft and his father is around 5’8 so should I be worried or is he just short like us?

If your doc isn't concerned then you shouldn't be. You can ask at your next appt if it still bothers you then. But I wouldn't stress. Also: he's stinking cute!

That is a BIG red flag. He could be normally smaller then almost all babies his age but he’s not even close to the curve. I marked the red dot on the chart.

The problem is that he could have something else going on with him and you need doctors help to figure it out. Some kids, although not common, have hormone problems and will never grow properly without hormone therapy. Please see a paediatrician who will know what to test for.

No need to be worried, he just may be short which makes sense if you guys are short too. 
At 9 months my daughter was 29.5 inches long, 19 pounds.

I'm not sure how fast baby's grow height wise...i do know several babies are 21-22 inches when they're born

My baby is still only 30 inches and less than 20 pounds at 18 months... I think you’re baby is fine as long as he is hitting his milestones and the doctor isn’t worried. I was a small baby and now my daughter is, too.

My daughter was perfectly average when she was born but has ended up being smaller than most kids her age over the past 3 years. She looked like an infant when she was walking at 10 months but only wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 2 Toms 😂The growth chart doesn’t matter as much as long as he’s steadily growing. He may have his own growth curve he’s working on, which would be why the Dr. doesn’t seem worried.

At my daughter 9 mo appt she was 28in , I'm tiny 5ft 0 in and 94lb and her dad is like 6ft 4in lol so who knows how tall she will be but id say dont worry , i dont particularly want my girl to be as tall as her dad but whatever happens im okay with 😌

Lol no you shouldn’t be worried about your baby’s height unless they clearly look like a dwarf my son is a little shorty I think it’s cute

Track his growth on a curve. If he stays off the chart then yes - you want to get him checked out. The bigger concern would be if by any chance he has a growth hormone deficiency since that would need to be treated sooner rather than later. He does not look like an LP to me (my son is an LP - so I do have experience there, he is 22" at 18 months)
 - but even if he was that's nothing to worry about either :) Chances are he is just on the shorter side (or, which is very likely as well - they simply measured wrong, which happens all the time).

As long as he is growing, it doesn’t matter how fast the curve spikes. I have 4 kids and they are all different shapes and sizes. My 19 yr old is 5 ft my 18 yr old 5’3 my 10 yr old 4’10. My 5 year old had been really short this whole time and just had a growth spurt. So it all just happens out of the blue. Some kids are slow and steady some just shoot up out of nowhere. My two older girls are s year apart and when my oldest was a year and a half she was the same size and my 6 month old. Kids are different. You feed him and he gets his vitamins, he is fine.
