Talking to guys

How would I go about talking to this guy I like? We are in a lot of the same classes and there are opportunities for us to talk but I can never find words fast enough to say something. He’s really sweet and such a great guy and I really really want to get to know him better. I keep on catching him looking at me and I look at him quite a lot. I recently came out as bi and make jokes about myself for it but loads of people think I must like a girl but I sing and I think he’s probably wondering that. Help pls!!! Can you think of any convo topics???
