MIL Possessive..

I know it may not seem like much but my MIL is actually breaking my heart when it comes to my daughter. She’s 2 months old exactly today.

MIL called my husband the other day saying she already got Po her first stocking and ornament and it caught me off guard because that’s what I wanted to do, we even had a stocking commissioned.

Then she asked if I had a Christmas outfit picked out, I said yes because I have the next like 5 holiday outfits picked out. And she said, “Oh well I found this dress and I was gonna order it for when I take her to go get her picture taken with Santa.”

Um, that’s nice and all but I have the outfit and I am taking her. She replied, “Fine then I’ll take her again, but I want to be in both the pictures.”

Like, I understand this is your granddaughter but Po is my first child and I feel like she’s trying to take away all my “firsts”..

I’ve tried talking to my husband about it but he’s all like, “It’s her first grand baby, she’s gonna be like this..”

But it’s really frustrating and heartbreaking. She did the same thing with the Fall photos, I said I would appreciate the pictures we are paying for being just her, me, and her father. But she went behind us when we were talking to the vendor and had the photographer take extra pictures with her and Po, even kissing our baby on the lips. 😡

We’ve already sat her down and told her she can’t kiss her, but it’s getting on my last nerve..

Please tell me I’m not overreacting..?
