Anterior placenta?

I went for a elective gender scan last night, and the tech told me I have an anterior placenta and should talk to my doctor about it. She said it’s the big lump on the bottom. Does it look anterior to anyone else? If so should I be concerned? The way she acted I should be. Thanks for any help!

I have it too. My tech said it was nothing to be concerned about because mine is nice and high. It can be a concern if it is low and close to the cervix because that could lead to placenta previa where it starts to cover the cervix. Another issue could be if you needed a c-section at the time of birth and if it’s low and in place of where they would make the incision.

It just means your placenta is implanted on the front side of your uterus; you will just feel baby's movement later than if it was in the back.

An anterior placenta would be on the top not the bottom. Your placenta is posterior because you can see it under the baby.
