Spanking?

Question

Im curious as to how many parents still spank their children? I was spanked growing up, only by my father. Never to hurt, just to scare.  And i actually listened to my dad and resected him way more than my mom. My boyfriend was as well ans he plans on spanking our son. I'm not entirely sure how i feel about it now that i have a baby of my own. What do you guys think/do?

My husband and I have different parenting strategies. We've mixed them together. Our kids get spanked for certain things, time out for others, and of course revoked privileges. We do our best to have the punishment reflect the crime.

We spank all our boys. It works for them. It works for us. But one thing that’s important for us is that our 2, soon to be 3 boys respect both of us, so we both must spank in order for them to know that if they are with me I will spank them and if they are with dad, he will spank them. There must be a balance of discipline for both parents, so your kid(s) Don’t walk all over the other adult.

My child is one of those that you o my have to raise your voice slightly. She's fantastic and never a problem with her.

We're both against spanking. We take our kid aside and talk to him, take him out of the situation, calm him down, take away whatever was causing the issue etc. So far so good. He's only 2 so that can all change though. Luckily he's a pretty chill kid and compared to most other kids is really well behaved. Our next child (due feb) will probably the be a devil child so ask me again in a year 😂

My daughter is only 20 months, and I totally thought I would be okay spanking. She's so cute and little still I literally cannot imagine spanking her ever. She's very good, for the most part, but even as frustrated as I can get with her sometimes, spanking is definitely never going to be an option in my book. I just love her too much 💜💜💜

Spanked my kid once, never again would i do it ive found time outs are way more effective to my son. To each is own 😁 every kid is different.
