Kissing my son

So my son is 17 months old. He's not affectionate most of the time and when he is, I eat it up! Well we were in Walmart yesterday and he wanted a kiss. So what do I do? I lean down and give him a little kiss! This woman passing us gave me the worst look of disgust and I literally yelled at her "NOT YOUR CHILD, NOT YOUR BUSINESS!" should I have said something different? I told my husband when we got home and he said I over reacted and my pregnancy hormones are taking over.
