When is the best time to start my maternity leave some say two months before my due date and some say as long as I feel comfortable when did you mommies do it?

I only get 8 weeks unpaid and I want to use every second of that to spend with baby. So I will work up until I’m in labor assuming all goes well

My son is due Jan 10 and I only get 16 weeks full pay. I’m not planning on going out at all until he is born. I don’t want to waste my maternity leave sitting at home with no baby lol. I may take a couple days PTO prior but so far I’m not.

I worked up until the Monday before I had him (he was born that Saturday) it was Thanksgiving week so technically I took 3 days off from work.

Depends on your policy. I’m in the U.K. and taking 9 months, I worked until 38+5 and it wasn’t as bad as I thought but I do have an office job and my maternity cover started 2 months earlier. My work we’re flexible and I could change it if needed

It’s really up to you and your work place. Mine allows 11 weeks prior to due date for 9months full pay and 3 months unpaid. But it up to you when you take it

I just began my leave Friday and my little guy is due 12/4. I only get 8 weeks supplemental pay + disability to I’m trying to make it work as long as possible.
