Night feeds? Tell me your sleep schedules

Question

My LO goes to sleep at 7, wakes around 3 to feed, and goes back to sleep until around 7. At his six month appointment, our pediatrician said he’s capable of going through the night entirely without eating and to cut that feed.
We’ve been trying to gently cut out the feed, but it hasn’t gone well and we’ve ended up feeding every night, sometimes even twice now. Has anyone successfully weaned nights?

I read online about reducing the feed by an ounce every few days until she decides it’s no longer worth it to wake up anymore. I was going to try this but ended up just taking the night time bottle away cold turkey.

I would continue feeding at 3am and/or seek a second opinion, it seems completely reasonable to be hungry after 7 hours sleep. Babies tummies are smaller than ours so they do need feeding more frequently. I wouldn’t want to deny a hungry baby.

I don’t remember when he stopped having a night feed, but it’s been a while. Probably a couple months now. He sleeps 8:30-8 usually. He wakes a few times and whimpers for his Nuk, which he can’t find because he’s not really awake. We’re working on waiting longer to help him (he’s still in our room so it’s tough).

We have bedtime at 7, I wake him up for a dream feed at 11, and he typically sleeps until 630 or so. Once I feel like he is more consistent with that, I will try dropping the dream feed cold turkey. I read somewhere that the dream feed should be the last meal to be dropped before the 12 sleep shift we all dream of. Every baby is different though...I have no idea how he will do when we drop it. If we miss it accidentally now, he is just so used to the timing that he is typically up at 1am

Mine have both started dropping their overnight feeds around 6-7 weeks. I’ve used sleep training almost from the get go and it’s worked well. My 6 month old has been doing 12 hour stretches since about 13 weeks old.

I cut out night feeds with both of my kids at 6 months. It took one really rough night of going in every 5mins when they cried to give them a pacifier to soothe instead of nursing (not picking them up either). By the third night both kids (15mo apart) grasped that they were only getting the pacifier and were self soothing. It’s really worked well for us both times! A week later of starting sleep training, my son starts crying when I put him in his crib but then stops and falls asleep when I shut his door. This week I’ve noticed that my son is happier and more alert in the morning ❤️❤️

We cut the middle of the night feed out at 6 weeks and she's slept through the night since, with her last feeding being at 11. I'm really not trying to brag, I'm just saying they are very capable! What we did is feed her more during the day and not let her take long naps. Today, our schedule looks like this: 7:30am feed, 9:30am nap, 10:30am feed, 12:30pm nap, 1:30pm feed, 3:30pm nap, 4:30pm feed, 7:30pm feed and put down for the night. We keep the schedule and feed her every 3 hours even if she's still sleeping or if she's not all that hungry. I just feed her however much she'll eat. My daughter does well with this schedule, but every baby's different and might require something different. This is just what we do at the moment.
