How to get urine out of mattress?

My 2 year old has ripped off her mattress protector multiple times and has wet the bed (even in pull-ups) multiple times. Her mattress smells horrible of pee and I can’t figure out how to clean it. If we can’t clean it, she won’t have a bed. It was a $100 mattress but we can’t afford one right now since my husband just lost his job.

I’d suggest an enzymatic cleaner like one made for pet urine. I use nature’s miracle for dog pee. Works great.

Try a handheld carpet or upholstery cleaning steam meachine with carpet or upholstery cleaning fluid. Then after it dries put one of those waterproof mattress protectors on that zips around the entire mattress not one that goes on like a fitted sheet. She probably won't be able to get it off as easily.

I hope you can’t get the smell out.  Natures miracle is great stuff. I have a waterproof cover that encompasses the entire mattress and you zip it closed. Maybe try sometime like that. She might not be able to get it off

If you have any type of carpet extractor, use that. If not, apply powder laundry detergent, let sit, then vacuum off. Afterwards, spray with a water repelling sealant (like the kind for shoes or outdoor furniture)
