Large gap kids with close relationship?

If you and your siblings had a large gap 5+ years, or if your children have a large gap, are you/they close to each other?
My brother and I are 4 years apart and although we get along great and I love him to death we are not close at all and talk maybe a few times a year. We are just in two very different points in our lives so it is tough to relate.
I wanted my children to be close 2-3 years apart, but my daughter just turned two and we are starting month 9 ttc with one miscarriage. However we are stopping after this month whether I get pregnant or not.
My daughter needs her second open heart surgery in 1.5-2.5 years from January and getting pregnant after January would possibly make the baby too young when she has her surgery and having a newborn and going through that wouldn't be fair to either of them. If I get pregnant this month they would be a minimum of 9 months apart. It could (hopefully) even be longer than 2.5 years but we won't know when until she starts showing symptoms of heart failure. We have agreed if it doesn't happen this month we are stopping trying until after her surgery.
It is hard because the surgery is a BIG thing but our family and family planning is FOREVER. I'm so nervous that she won't have a close relationship with her siblings if we wait that long. They could be 5+ years apart which seems like so long.....

My brother is 5 years older than me. We haven’t even spoken in almost 2 years and were never ‘friends’ or anything. We were never at similar stages in life, so we always did our own thing and didn’t bond 
My sister is 3 years older than me, and shes been my best friend since I was 12. We talk almost daily, we did everything together growing up, ect 
Now, my husband has a sister who’s 3 years older that he was never close with, and a brother who’s 2 years older that he was close to growing up but isn’t close to now, and a brother who’s 7 years younger who he talks to the most 
I think it has to do more with bonding, similar interests/personalities/ect, than age

I have 2 siblings & we are all within 4 years, we have a good relationship but aren't super close (brothers, we don't just call to chat but we love time together) when we were young we fought HARD! I have a 1/2 brother who is 20 years older, I have pretty much 0 relationship with as we were never raised in the same home, feels more like a distant cousin than sibling.
My husband & his brother are 7 years apart & VERY close, have been most of their lives. 
Honestly I think it has to do more with parenting & personality than age gap but idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

My brother and I are 18 months apart, we use to be close back when we partied together. We’re not as close now that I’m a mom and have different priorities. He does love his nephew though! I don’t think it’s something you can force, I think even if you have them close or far apart, it’ll be up to them on how close they are. Good luck momma

My step daughters have 5 years between them and aren’t very close/don’t get along much. My cousins are 7 years apart and are super close. My sister and I are 3.5 years apart and hate each other.... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Any relationship is what you make it. My brother and I are 4 years a part but make time for each other. We also live nearby so it’s easier. Where you’re at in life depends on the maturity of the both people. When I was 22 I was married and living on my own. My brother is now 26 and still hasn’t seemed to mature.

I'm just under your gap limit... My oldest brother and I are 4 years apart. He and I never got along. He was kind of a bully. And I was the annoying little sister that wouldn't leave him alone. We're better now. I love him so much but we just never see eye to eye.
My brother that's 2 years older than me(and 2 years younger than the other) got along great with the oldest. And with me. So in my head 2ish years is perfect. And that's what we'll be trying for. 
But honestly, I think it just depends on the family and the kids. Your going to get so many different kinds of answers. And it will probably all depend on how you raise them. Don't stress out about ttc. You have enough on your plate and however your family turns out, you'll say "i couldnt imagine it any other way." ☺

I have an age gap of 10 and 16 years with my sisters. One i get along with great the other not so much. But Thats not because of age. We just dont mesh well and shes a bitch lol

My little sister is 9 years younger than me but I have older siblings with gaps of 1.5, 3, 4, and 5 years. I have a closer relationship with my younger sister than I do with any of my older siblings. I think the gap irrelevant.

Me and my sis are 7 years and then me and my brother are 18 years apart me and my sis are back and forth right now my brother feels like more another son of mine because my oldest is a week older than my brother
