Breastfeeding help?

Question

I want to breastfeed my daughter, she’s 5 days old now and things have been going well. The problem I have is the pain! It’s to the point now I don’t even want to do it. 
I think it’s getting to me emotionally and I’m tempted to give up. Wouldn’t it be better to enjoy feedings with her and bond!? 
And yes I’ve seen a lactation doctor and tried a bunch of different latches :(

Hi everyone- after being seen our girl has a tongue tie which is causing the pain for me. I’ve been armed with a ton of resources and after the procedure we should be all better! Thank you!!

Is it just extreme soreness? I understand that pain and want to reassure you.. after about a week or a little over a week, your nipples will toughen up more and it won't be painful. That first week for me, my nipples were so so sore that I almost wanted to cry everytime it was time to feed my babygirl but now, it's been 16 days since I gave birth and they're no longer sore like that and I really love breastfeeding now.

I don't have any real advice. The lactation nurse I work with told me to look at Jack Newman. There is a YouTube video by him called Jack Newman's visual guide to breast feeding that I watched in preparation.

Give it a couple more days the pain should go away soon! My daughter is 9 days old and we are finally comfortable

It happens to us all girl don’t worry. My nipples are bloody and scabbed and every time I feed her I have this extreme stinging pain in the beginning then it goes away. Try to stick it out if you can, I know you can do it

I would definitely talk to someone about it but a nipple shield helped me take pain away for some feedings so they could rest and not be so uncomfortable!

I’d definitely see a consultant. Ours told us that pain could mean a bad latch or lots of other things but many of them are fixable!

Do u have thrush? 
Some people have used the nipple cones to help or the football hold
