yeast infection question

i’ve had what i and my doctor have thought was a yeast infection for months. i’ve gone through various treatments for it, and nothing seems to make it go away. some things make it feel better momentarily, but it always returns. initially, i had the “classic” symptoms of itching and the thick, cottage cheese-like discharge, but after the last treatment, the discharge is gone and returned to normal and most of the itching has been replaced by a kind of intense burning all over the vulva but there’s mild itching still. everything feels pretty okay as far as inside goes now also. i’m just curious if anyone else has dealt with this? is it yeast that spread? i’m returning to the doctor so don’t leave nasty comments please. my doctor is pretty stumped though and i’m incredibly frustrated so if anyone has any ideas i’d be so grateful. (there‘s no way it’s an std; i’m not sexually active.)
