Is Love Free???

I'm curious to hear your opinions on this. Does love come at an emotional expense? My first reaction is no, of course not. But when I really think about it, maybe it does. Anyone who has ever had a child knows that loving fiercely comes at a huge price. Loving your spouse through the turmoil of any marriage takes a toll. Friends, family, career, etc..anything that we feel passionately about will beat us down from time to time. I hope I'm explaining this the right way. Let me know your thoughts.
