Birth story,
I woke up at 2am on Friday the 7th and went to pee. I noticed my mucus plug started to come out, about 30 minutes after peeing I started to have contractions. They became more intense around 10am and by 2pm I was heading to the dr to get checked because I was in so much pain. She checked me and I was a 1.5 dilated. I felt so exhausted and defeated but she sent me home and told me to continue to labor. I called my birth doula (if you haven’t gotten one of these for your first delivery I highly recommend it! She was incredible and brought so much piece of mind, I continued to labor at home and took a hot shower and sat in the bath for what felt like forever but was only 2 hours before we heading off to the hospital. I was taken into triage and they checked me and I was a 3 and opted for the epidural! Life saver!!! I don’t know how I wouldn’t have survived another 12 hours of labor. I continued to progress and at midnight they started pitocin . Then at 4 am they came in to break my water. By 8:30am I was ready to push and with 6 pushed total my daughter was born at 9am. She had some complications breathing so NICU took her for observation. Meanwhile I hemorrhaged and tore a 3rd degree tear. Not ideal for a first time mom but all ended up ok!
