Does anyone else with Anxiety feel like they can never quite breathe deeply enough?!

I frequently get this and it’s so frustrating. I’ve been checked out by drs and gotten a clean bill of health. 😫

There's this exercise that I do when I get like that. Breathe in four four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds (if you're able to at that moment) and breathe out for eight seconds. Then repeat until you can breathe more easily.

honestly, a massage helps with that sort of thing.
it’s very common for the intercostal muscles between ribs to become very tight, pulling the ribs too close to each other. this reduces accessible lung capacity. rib work isn’t necessarily relaxing, but you will be AMAZED at how much better you can breathe afterwards.

I got that a lot and for me it was asthma. I’d go a couple weeks at a time feeling like I had to take deep breaths or I couldn’t breathe and felt like I couldn’t breathe deep enough. It could be asthma induced by anxiety? I’d ask the doctor about that.

I more often get a big lump in my throat for days at a time and this heavy weight in my chest. It sucks. But meditation is helpful, and grounding exercises too!
