Using GLOW as my BC?!

Question

I have just recently gotten off the pill and will be using condoms as my form of birth control. Well me and my partner want to occasionally be able to NOT use condoms. Does anyone else use glow as a BC, as in only having sex the days its only a 3-5% chance of pregnancy? Also who has gotten pregnant trying to do this Lol

Glow is not a method of birth control. It has no way to actually know when you're ovulating; it can only guess based on the information you provide it with. You can ovulate at any point in your cycle, though. Unless you are consistently tracking ovulation using ovulation kits or basal body temp, your best bet is to use condoms or another proven form of birth control.

I do. Me and husband hate condoms! But also I wouldn’t be upset if I did get pregnant.

Apps are just estimates of when ur fertile/ovulating & may not always be accurate. So, u should not solely rely on on it. To better know if/when ur ovulating, u need to diligently check & track ur basal body temp, ur cervical discharge & position, and use ovulation tests. This can take a few months to master, plus it can generally take 3-6 months for ur body/natural cycles to fully adjust & go back to normal after stopping birth control. So, if u still plan on trying to track ur ovulation to help prevent pregnancy, definitely give it at least a few months before occasionally ditching the condoms. 
Personally though, I would not use fertility tracking as my sole or main method of preventing pregnancy... too much room for error & just too risky in my opinion 🤷‍♀️

I don't think it's the best idea. You could look into nonhormonal birth control like cervical cap, diaphragm, spermicide, etc. You don't necessarily have to use condoms. If you choose to use Glow to track when you're fertile, definitely doing temping.

I use glow and condoms as bc, but only bc I usually know FOR SURE when I ovulate due to ovulation cramping. If you don’t know for sure when you ovulate, I’d wait until a few days before your period comes (assuming you have regular cycles) to have unprotected sex.

I don’t think it’s a good idea, to trust an app to tell you when you’re fertile or not lol.  Buuut you do you! :)
