Are condoms safe?

I stopped using the pill last month. I was on it for about 18 years, since i was 13, and i decided it was enough. Im still not ready for kids so my bf and i are now using condoms. Im SO stressed out about it i cant even sleep after we have sex. I felt safe and protected with the pill. I really dont feel that way with condoms. Are condoms really safe ??

My boyfriend and I have been using just condoms for almost 3 years now. No condom has broken or leaked. No pregnancy scares. If you use them correctly every time you will be protected.

I used condoms alone for 22 yrs as bf and no unplanned pregnancies.  And they protected me from the STD my exhusband got.  So win win.

When used every time from start to finish & don’t break or leak, they are 98% effective. If u want more protection without having to use hormonal birth control, then consider using spermicide or cervical sponges (in the same isle as condoms) in addition to condoms. Or, possibly consider the non hormonal IUD, Paragard.

When used correctly, absolutely! 
My partner and I have been using them for 10yrs because I don't want to mess with hormones or get an IUD, with no pregnancies, no problems.
But can you trust him to get the correct size, know how to put them on correctly, and check the expiration date?  Every single time? Then you should be fine. If not, then get a different method where you have more control, because if he messes up it's you who gets pregnant, not him.
