Husband Post

In the past few months my family has been hit with extremely hard news. My aunt went into the hospital for head injury due to seizures, the found a tumor on her brain, decided that it wasn’t something to be removed at the time, they released her. 1 month later, my mom (they are sisters) was diagnosed for the second time with breast cancer, this time metastatic breast cancer. The next day my aunt goes back into the hospital for the same issues. Except this time her brain tumor has grown 6mm in a month! The brain tumor is Malignant Melanoma of the brain and it killed her last Thursday. My moms cancer we are now finding out that her cancer is in her bones, and in her liver and she has months to live. It’s been a rough month.. and a hard holiday to get through..

So My husband and I decided we were not going to exchange gifts, and just enjoy each other and our families. I was disappointed that we were not exchanging gifts, because I get more enjoyment out of watching others get gifts. Christmas eve came and went, we spent time with our families came home, and there on the couch was a Christmas stocking with a water bottle (because I am obsessed with water bottles) and inside the stocking was a shiny silver box. Inside of it was the most unique and beautiful ring. He said here, I haven’t been able to afford you a real diamond ring, and this year I was able too. I absolutely boohooed.

And not that I am materialistic and just complained that my previous ring wasn’t real. He said he wanted to buy me something that would make me smile, seeing as we’re going through the hardest of times right now.

My husband has been my rock, my shoulder to cry on, my “punching bag” (not physically). I felt I needed to brag about how awesome he is to me!
