Leading up to labor

Emily

Thought I’d share something’s that I noticed and did that lead up to my labor and delivery!

Let me say I tried everything!

*shot of hot sauce ✅

*clary sage oil ✅

*activating labor video ✅

*sex. Lots of sex ✅

*walking ✅

*nipple stimulation ✅

*spicy food ✅

I don’t feel like anything really worked.

6 days before I went into labor at my doctor appointment I was dilated to about a 3, but since I had scar tissue the outside of my cervix was a 1.

3 days before I went into labor I took a walk around the mall. I did about 2 miles.

I did nipple stimulation every day and it did give me some contractions but nothing that stuck.

2 days before labor I had loose stools. I had them for a few days but it really picked up 2 days before labor. I thought it might have been what I ate but I pooped like 3 times a day. Not diarrhea but just loose. I also did the activating labor video.

1 day before labor I pooped like 6 times. All loose. I had 2 real contractions but blew them off because they didn’t last very long and weren’t consistent.

The night of at 1am I swore I heard something pop. I didn’t feel it in my stomach but I had heard of women talking about this. I moved in bed onto my other side and nothing came out so I just figured it wasn’t anything.

At 3am I woke up and needed to pee. I got up, used the bathroom went downstairs got something to drink headed back upstairs and laid down. Got comfy and trying to fall back asleep I coughed and I felt water gush out of me. I coughed again and again more water. It didn’t feel like I peed myself it wasn’t the same feeling. I woke up my husband and told him my water broke. I went to the bathroom and more water came out when I sat down. I ended up getting a towel and just kept it in there all the way to the hospital. No contractions until I got started with pitocin at 8am. 9am got my epidural and the rest is history!

My son was born at 12:38pm at 38.5 weeks.

Hope this helps with all those “what about this” moms! No mucus plug, no bloody show either!
