What is your opinion on the Shadowhunters Netflixs series?

Okay so I freaking love The Mortal Instruments series and just basically all of Cassandra Clares books but omg I literally can't STAND the TV program cause i just think it's so bad! Their all pretty horrible actors and the characters look nothing like I had imagined them too (maybe apart from alec) but esp Jace! Like what did they do to my baby! He is nothing like what I had expected. And Clary is just ugh, just not book Clary lol and the actor that plays her is probably one of the worst actors out of the whole cast. Anyway If you've read the books, let me know your thoughts on the shadowhunter series?? Cause I'm livid right now haha

I hated the movie. But I actually quite enjoy the show. I’m anxiously waiting for season 3B to come on Netflix. I love the books too. And I do feel there are a few plot holes in the show but not lots. And as for the actors. I love them all. Especially Katherine McNamara. She plays Clary amazingly. She portrays her strength but also emotional vulnerability. Which is perfect.

Uuuggghhhh!! When I got past the city of bones book (I found it kind of meh at first) and read the rest of the series I loved it!! But then I go to watch the show, and while it’s a hell of a lot better than the movie, it’s still pretty terrible! From messing with time lines of the story, to killing characters off but add new ones? Just why?! I feel your pain!

I feel like I'm one of the few people who loves the Freeform channel version of Shadowhunters. I just love the way some of the characters are portrayed, such as Jace, Alec, and Simon. I prefer the Jace from the TV series rather than the novels because he's a lot kinder and less cocky.

Thankfully I’ve not read the books otherwise I would probably feel how you do.  
I do think the acting isn’t great and it almost put me off.  But, I loved the concept so I continued for the story and idea and I love it. The actors have grown on me. 
I didn’t realise it was based on a book until I met the publishers at YALC.  They were doing shadow hunter tattoos (with marker pen - temporary) and my friend & I got one done.  Felt super cool and geeky at once lol

I think that they were kinda bad in season 1. They chemistry was terrible. But by the time you get to season 2 and 3 it's better. (also Clary's hair is dyed better). Honestly, I think it's a better casting than the movie. Yes the story line gets mixed up but it still keeps in the Shadowhunters universe because it mentions thing that are mentioned in TDA and TID. I've heard lots of people saying they don't like it though so I guess you either love or hate it.
