What would you do?
Hello ladies! I’m posting this to get a second opinion on what people think of my work place and what you would do in my situation. I work at a McDonald’s if it’s worth mentioning. A little while ago, my work attendance, I will admit, was poor. I was late a few times and I missed a few days. Before I missed and started to be late, I had to get emergency dental work done (I had root canal done and the nerve was exposed so my pain was horrible) and they wanted to write me up due to “lack of notice” for both the original appointment and the follow up. The place was about an hour away and with the way my work and appointment were scheduled, i would’ve only worked 2 hours, which seemed pointless to me for both myself and the company. Due to a note, they couldn’t do anything about it but they were still mad I couldn’t come in so they’ve been petty ever since. I changed my availability to focus on school bc I’m in advanced placements and was starting to fall behind. They were mad about that too. Ever since, I’ve been really good about it. I come in early, stay late sometimes, and even worked both Christmas eve and Christmas Day. But anyways, I came in 2 hours early today and I felt good. But then a manager was talking to me and literally had said “I’m surprised you’re here”. To which I said “why wouldn’t I?” And he says “I don’t know, you tell me.” I was really taken back. Then another manager jumped in and said “Oh, she shows up, but just on weekdays, not weekends”. I felt kind of offended bc I’ve been working hard to make up for previous things. I’m not expecting them to reward me but it just seems rude to me.
