What happens at your first prenatal appointment?

Hi! I just had my first prenatal appointment this morning. (I’m 9 wks although we thought I was 11). Along with LOADS of questions, my OB gave me a belly ultrasound, Pap smear, vaginal ultrasound (since baby was too small to see with the belly US), then he sent me to get blood work and urine tests done in a lab. Im pretty sure this is the normal first visit procedure. Be sure to bring a list of questions with you... I blanked when he asked me if I had any questions and now that I’m home I wish I wrote them down. Good luck!

it depends how far along you are. I was 4w when i had my first appointment so it was too soon for an ultrasound. tons of questions and we talked ab my previous miscarriage and a lot of blood work and a urine sample & my county has something called Mom care, it’s insurance that pays for everything for pregnant women & i set that up & i had to file for my baby’s medicaid & they gave me paperwork to set up WIC for the baby.
