Thoughts on breastfeeding/ powder milk?

So I’ve always thought if i ever got pregnant, I’d just want to solely use powder milk. I do love the though of breast feeding but I never personally thought I’d do it but now I am actually pregnant....I’m considering breast feeding. Has anyone gone through stages where they’ve change their minds? Maybe some people’s breast fed for only a short time then transferred onto baby powder?

First off: 
There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE in baby formula and powdered milk. 
Second: 
Yes colstrum is very important, it’s the rich yellow substance you feed your baby until your milk comes in. 
Breastfeeding does have many benefits over formula feeding. HOWEVER I will not kill myself over breastfeeding my child, FED is best.

Breastfeeding is always better for you and baby. Here are a few reasons why
1. Its free
2. It gives the baby so immunity 
3. Helps you lose weight after baby
4. Reduces the risk of breast cancer
5. Its convenient 
6. Allows for more bonding with baby
7. Reduces colic and acid reflux

At the risk of getting a lot of internet moms screaming at me. Haha my mom breastfed 3 of 4kids my sister she had to switch to formula because she got a staph infection at the hospital. That sister is overweight and has been since maybe 5 or 6 and the rest of us are average to scrawny eating the same foods. Formula can correlate with weight troubles later in life. Not a guarantee though just something to think about when weighing your options.

Breastfeeding worked so well for me. I nursed my daughter for 15 months. Free and not having to make and clean bottles. Definitely a win win. 
Just a heads up don’t feed a baby powdered milk, they’ll need baby formula and there is a huge difference between the two.

Fed is best. I was sure I would breastfeed. When she got here though it was way too stressful and messed with my mental state. Formula feeding was the healthiest decision for us. I do have times I feel guilty, but I don’t regret the decision.

So I'm going to say that breast feeding is different for everyone. Your nipple shape, how much milk you produce, how well the baby latches etcetera all come into play. Some women have no problem at all, some struggle and some struggle so much its painful and they stop. I went into breast feeding with a hope of making enough milk for my baby to keep her full, but that wasnt the case and in the end all I care about is that she doesn't go hungry. I now breast feed and bottle feed each time and I think this is best, for us both. I would advise if you want to do it, go for it! But just remember it might not work out and your baby being fed is all that matters, so keep an open mind. ;)

Breastfeeding is highly recommended due to many factors and is truly best but that doesn’t mean that formula is awful. I was only able to breastfeed my first for the first two weeks. Got mastitis twice within a week and that caused my supply to dwindle down so much that I couldn’t produce what she needed so we had to switch to formula feeding. 
Breastfeeding is insanely demanding and exhausting to most moms and until you find a solid routine, it can feel like you’re doing it constantly and if not that, pumping constantly. It’s painful but it’s so worth it. I’m going to try BFing this baby as well but know not to be nearly as hard on myself if it doesn’t work out as planned too

Breast feeding is much healthier for baby! Only do formula if for some reason you really can’t breast feed. But any decision you make will be fine!

I breastfed all 3 of my boys well past a year old. But during my pregnancy with my last one I was almost nervous to breastfeed him. I knew I would, there was no question about that. But it was weird that i was feeling weird about it. Then he was born and we immediately started breastfeeding with no reservations at all. Do your research....formula vs breastmilk. Whatever you choose to do is your choice and that’s fine. But research is the reason I breastfed all of my children. It made my decision very easy.
