Car seat and stroller recommendations needed!

I’m wondering if anyone can provide any guidance for me, a soon to be first time mom, on this issue. I’m trying to decide on a car seat and stroller.

Initially I was leaning towards an infant car seat/stroller combo, but the fact that I would have to buy another car seat once my baby is over the weight limit for the infant seat makes me wonder if I would be better off buying a convertible car seat and a stroller separately. But if I went down that route, then we wouldn’t be able to use the stroller with him until he’s old enough to support his head, right?

I guess I’m just feeling a little overwhelmed by the options and I don’t want to waste money. Ideally I’d like a travel system that includes a convertible car seat instead of an infant one, but I haven’t found that anywhere.
