Is it true that there’s unpleasant time periods to being a mom??

Currently 9 weeks along w my first baby and a bunch of my female family members today were telling me how being a mom stopped feeling so great for them after their kids were passed the age of like 6 because they lost interest in their moms & they’re not attached to their hip anymore and they’re out of the lovey/needy/kiddie phase, I can definitely understand how that could suck but also I feel like by that time after doing everything for them for so long I’d be grateful for their gaining of independence lol how is it for you guys?

I think there are definitely different age periods parents seem to prefer. It is often true that as children age, they aren’t as cuddly and dependent on their parents and some parents find that saddening. But there are different types of joys to every stage. I love the toddler stage. I think it’s adorable how they seek to find their own personalities and you really get to learn about your child. When they start talking and walking, it’s so much fun to me! Other people love the newborn stage. Things will get harder and easier throughout your journey of motherhood, but you’ll learn to adjust.

I have 4 kids ages 6 and under. Sometimes the "mommy mommy" stuff drives me nutty, but overall I'm insanely crazy about my kids, and the thought of them not wanting to hang out with me makes me so sad I get teary thinking about it lol. My husband actually suggested we stay living in a tiny house so they have no choice but to be near us all the time LOL
